Lubumbashi: attaque sur un dépôt d’armes.

"Le dépôt d’armement du camp militaire Major Nvangu à Lubumbashi (Katanga) a été attaqué dans la nuit de samedi à dimanche 27 novembre. Selon le porte-parole de la 6e région militaire, le dépôt a été complètement calciné. Il ajoute que c’est un dépôt stratégique pour la ville qui contenait des munitions de grande valeur.
La même source indique que c’est une attaque surprise. Les assaillants ont tiré pendant plus ou moins trente minutes sur les deux militaires qui faisaient la garde.
L’un d’eux a été atteint par balle et il a succombé dimanche 27 novembre dans la matinée.
D’autres sources parlent de deux blessés graves du coté des forces loyalistes.
L’identité des assaillants n’est pas encore dévoilée mais le porte parole de la 6e région militaire déclare que les soupçons pèsent sur les éléments armés de la Coordination du référendum d’autodétermination du Katanga (Corak)."
The arms depot at military camp Major Nvangu, Lubumbashi (Katanga Province), was attacked during the night from Saturday to Sunday, November 27. According to the spokesman of the 6th Military Region, the deposit was completely burned. He added that it was a strategic depot for the city which contained ammunition of great value.
The same source indicates that it was a surprise attack. The attackers fired for about thirty minutes on the two soldiers who were on duty. One of them was shot and he died Sunday, Nov. 27 in the morning.
Other sources speak of two serious injuries on the side of loyalist forces.
The identity of the attackers has not been revealed, but the spokesman of the 6th Military Region said that the suspicion lays with armed elements of the Coordination of the Referendum for Self-determination of Katanga (Corak).

In the night from Saturday to Sunday [...] a group of unidentified assailants attacked the military camp of Vangu, killing one of the guards and setting fire to a "strategic" military depot, said Radio Okapi, sponsored by the UN, citing military sources. She did not say whether weapons and ammunition had been removed. FARDC intervened and the attackers retreated. They could have been armed elements of the referendum for the Coordination for the Referendum of Self-Determination for Katanga (CORAK), which campaigns for "the departure of the occupants of the Katanga Congolese regime."
